Blue Ridge Neighborhood

Hello,
My name is Lupe Mares, Blue Ridge Neighborhood Organizer, with Commitment to Community (C2C).  I have been working with C2C since October of 2009. It has been a great learning experience to face the challenges and joys that come forth when working with neighbors. Several Blue Ridge neighbors have volunteered their time to the maintenance and beautification of the Blue Ridge neighborhood. Work aside; neighbors have also planned and carried out social gatherings this year. I am working with neighbors to be involved in the outreach process, thus creating a positive network of involved citizens.

Trash Clean up

Through several one-on-one meetings held since April 2011, neighbors have brought up the concern of cleaning up their neighborhood with the help of Commitment to Community (C2C).On November 25 & 26, 2011, neighbors had its first ever Trash Clean Up event. C2C, neighbors, and The Walla Walla Joint Community Development Agency (WWJCDA) partnered to beautify and maintain the neighborhood. The Trash Clean Up was a major success that benefited to everyone. We hope to continue to have great partnerships like the one with the WWJCDA for future trash clean ups.
